|
|
Journal Entries for "Red Eyes in the Dark" dime novel.
During the 1800's dime novels were aimed at youthful, working-class audiences and distributed in massive editions at newsstands and dry goods stores. They were typically stories of Wild West adventure, tales of urban outlaws, detective stories, working-girl narratives of virtue defended, and costume romances complete with lurid cover illustration.
Right here is where we will create our own "Dime Novel". Each posse member is encouraged (you'll be gettin chips) to write a short paragraph of something that may have left an impression on your character during the game session. This must be from the characters perspective, not a players persective. As the marshal and posse members post a story will take shape, hopfully an interesting one.
To do this post a reply to this thread after the marshal has posted an overview of the game session for that week. Your post should contain your characters name, that he/she is a posse member and your characters concept, then followed by your entry.

Marshals Entry. Game session: Sep 27/2007. Game time: Aug 2/1876.
The posse members, each for thier own reasons have boarded the Iron Dragon Railway, departing from Chicago with Deadwood as thier destination. Though no fault of thier own they ran into a little bit of a problem in Rockford falls. The town folk refused to refuel the train believing that the rail company has something to do with some townsfolk disappearing. Rockford falls is split by a river, one side is where the white folk live and the other side where the chinese live. Men of importance (local wealthy business owners) asked a couple of the posse members to investigate, for a small fee. Being strangers they might be able to cross the river into chinatown without too much of a problem. The session ends with two of the posse members in a gunfight at the residence of Professor Hobart Schuler.

Mayor Quimby of Rockford Falls - extra.
We have a per'dicament in this here town. Disappearences in the middle of the night, people seeing red eye in the dark. Don't know what to make of it, but we better figure it out soon. People are starting to panic, then they'll be blaming anyone convenient. Hopfully it won't be me, elections aren't fer awhile though. |

That man ain't no preacher. Ain't it written.
Non est Iudæus, neque Græcus: non est servus, neque liber: non est masculus, neque femina. Omnes enim vos unum estis in Christo Iesu.
Galatians 3:28
Man o' God Should know better than to stir up that kind o' trouble. |
